Man from London

I have a brand new viewing experience last night. Not delighted by the plot, but by every frame and sound of the movie.

Simple story: an employee stole 60,000 pounds from his boss and fled to elsewhere with a partner. on arrival, the employee killed his partner. however, he could not took those money away. another man there picked up a case on the sea. The event brought attention of local and national police , boss's partner, and that employee's wife there. Two days later, the man killed employee, and returned money back.

When the film finished, i was surprised by my patience ... the film runs quite slow. On the other hand, i was moved by the photography and sound of the film. The film was shot in black-and-white. The extreme colour contrast made the film unrealistic. One of the highlight is Tilda Swinton closing the window

Every frame is just a picture, an art piece. Also the sound constructs an intense feeling to the film.

Hope I can encounter another great viewing experience next week. i will watch Savage Grace on this Sunday ... but it seems a bloody movie ... i don't like violence ...

Great Film, Well-behaved Audience

We, movie-goers, are criticized of bad behaviours in movie theaters: using mobile phones, talking too loud, disclose the plot when viewing a film ... however, today i was really relax when watching Bourne Ultimatum. People will concentrate on a "good" film and do nothing else. that's the point.

i watched the film with my brother (again... but this time i did not subsidise his ticket fee...) this morning. i was surprised that the theater was almost full-house. then i prayed that there was less disturbance from my "fellow" audience around me. however, audience's behaviours made my worry disappeared. their emotions are led when the film continued. towards the end, we all were eager to know whether Jason Bounre was alive. I was moved by this atmosphere.

I do believe that film theaters are still exist, that they cannot be replaced by home theaters.

Mind Over Time - Interpol

Mind you: don't play this song when you are down ...

Here is the lyric link.

In my opinion, this song is about suicide. First, he is wondering whether he would take action (I'll be still to hear the call either way). After struggling sometime, he decide to do it. (Wait for grace It's time). At last, before he really died, lots of memory flashed out of his mind. However, he felt no regret about it. As he soon go to heaven. (Greet the great)

Quite pessimistic song, but i like it ...

No Eye See

What happen? The world's backwards...

Today i went to public library and picked up Esquire Magazine. Suddenly there was a page being covered with library note. The note said: the page contains image of smoking... Also i found that some foul words were hidden by sign pen.

what the government think about us citizen? we are not fool. we won't start smoke just because seeing the image of smoking !!! now self-censorship is everywhere: from arts to books. more prohibition just make us stupid... in future may be we have to cover up our whole body, excepts your eyes (however at that time "eye" could be treated as sexual symbol...) when you go out...
