In my opinion, this song is about suicide. First, he is wondering whether he would take action (I'll be still to hear the call either way). After struggling sometime, he decide to do it. (Wait for grace It's time). At last, before he really died, lots of memory flashed out of his mind. However, he felt no regret about it. As he soon go to heaven. (Greet the great)
Quite pessimistic song, but i like it ...

I was fascinated by this entry because you probably spotted the song's meaning.
All the quotes you name do make sense. And it's one of the most beautiful songs to reflect about suicide...I always listen to it when I'm down and the possible meaning comes into my mind. It's the incredible peacefulness that's kind of attracting.
